Requesting AFS space

Tags how-to

Members of the U-M community who are eligible for Standard Computing Services may optionally receive a 10GB allotment of AFS space. The AFS space can be used to store and share files and to publish personal web pages. In some cases, your personal AFS space is used as your home directory when you log into a computer.

New users at the university are no longer issued an AFS account by default, but you can request it easily.

Request an AFS account.

Go to this self-provisioning site.

Additional notes

The ITS Login Service and the ITS Statistics and Computation Service (SCS) use AFS home directories. You will need an AFS account to use these services.
