Connecting to the VPN before login - Windows

Summary

You can connect to the UM VPN before logging into your Windows device using the VPN icon in the lower right at login. This can be helpful if you have recently changed your password and your device login is out of sync.

Environment

• UM Windows devices
• CiscoAnyConnect VPN

Directions 

1. Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete to get the log in prompt
2. Click the left-most icon in the lower right of the screen
   
3. In the resulting Cisco VPN window, select UMVPN Start before login
4. Enter your uniqname and password
5. A DUO prompt will be sent to your device, accept it to connect
6. Proceed to log in to the computer
