Users need to embed YouTube videos in Canvas pages without pasting in a raw URL.

Resolution

For accessibility, URLs should be embedded in unique and meaningful text. In order to properly embed a YouTube video in Canvas, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the YouTube video you wish to embed and click on the Share button underneath the video.
  2. Click on the Embed option, then Copy.
  3. Navigate to the Canvas page where you want to embed the video and open the Rich Text Editor.
  4. Click on the </> symbol under the Rich Text Editor panel, which will open the HTML editor view.
  5. Paste the embed code into the HTML in the location where you want the video to appear.
  6. Click the </> symbol again to return to the Rich Text Editor. You can adjust the text and other content around the embedded video.
