MiWorkspace Supported USB Ethernet Adapters for Building Windows Computers

Environment

MiWorkspace

Issue

How to build a MiWorkspace device without a built-in Ethernet port.

Resolution

If the device you're imaging doesn't have a built-in Ethernet port, you'll need to use a USB Ethernet adapter to connect it to the network.

MiWorkspace validates and guarantees the following models of adapter:

  • Dell Adapter- USB-C to Ethernet - USB Type C

Other adapters may work, but they are not supported. In particular, HP adapters have been known to change the underlying hardware without noticeWe do not recommend or support building with a dock, as they can cause imaging to fail.
