University of Michigan email
Issue
U-M community members are reporting receiving highly customized emails impersonating real U-M faculty offering employment opportunities. This scam aims to trick recipients into sharing personal information, sending the scammer money, gift cards, or to make other purchases. In many cases the scammer will email the student a fake check to print and instruct them to use their mobile banking application to deposit into their bank account.
