Issue

How do I access New Student Orientation?

How do I access the virtual orientation course that is part of undergraduate orientation?

Resolution

NOTE: Only students can access this page -- others will receive an error if they try.

  1. Connect to https://onlineorientation.onsp.umich.edu
  2. Enter your U-M uniqname and password
  3. Click on the Start Here button.
    1. You will be entered into the first part of the session.
    2. Note: If you click the back button on the browser you will have to start from the beginning of the section.
  • Students are required to complete this virtual orientation couse before thier academic advising.
  • This virtual orientation course takes approximately four hours to complete.
  •  Non-students  will need to sign up with a guest account.

Additional Information

Students can access the virtual orientation course when they receive their orientation invitation email. Guests and others can learn how to create a guest account and the timing of when the course will be available on onsp.umich.edu/orientation/parents-family-members. 

It is recommended to complete the course on a laptop, however other platforms are supported by many browsers.
