How to recall an email using Undo Send
Resolution
You have a short time to cancel a message (between 5 to 30 seconds), and if a message is not cancelled in that time, it is not otherwise possible to recall an email.
Recall an Email with Undo Send
If you would like to recall/unsend an email you just sent from your U-M Google account, you have a short time to do so
- Immediately after you send a message, you will see a message on the bottom left of your screen that says "Message sent"
- Click the option to "Undo" or "View message"
- Click Undo
Choose an Amount of Time to Recall a Message
You can set the amount of time you have to recall a message.
- On your computer, go to Gmail
- In the top right, click Settings (indicated by a gear icon) -> See all settings
- Next to "Undo Send," select a Send cancellation period of 5, 10, 20, or 30 seconds
Additional Information
Note: Gmail and Outlook are different products. Undo Send for Gmail and Recall for Microsoft Outlook are different processes and do not work the same way.
