Retaining Canvas Student History for Dropped Students

Instructor would like to access Canvas submissions and grade history for dropped students

Resolution

The Registrar’s Office policy on this issue is:

• Students who drop BEFORE the drop/add period will be removed from the Canvas course site
  • You would not have direct access to the student history, but the student’s information could be retrieved if there was some special circumstance. Such requests would be referred to the U-M User Advocate for review. User Advocate Office: https://safecomputing.umich.edu/protect-the-u/protect-your-unit/services/user-advocate
• Students who withdraw AFTER drop/add period will be made inactive and you would still be able to access that student’s submissions and grading history.
