Document Imaging: ImageNow Printer not Responding, Not Printing, or Print Queue says Spooling

Perceptive Content Client (Document Imaging)

Issue

ImageNow printer not responding, PDF not printing to ImageNow printer, or print queue says Spooling. Print pop-up won't appear.

Resolution

The fix requires a restart of the Print Spooler or simply clearing the printer queue. You can do this by:

  1. Canceling the documents in the ImageNow printer queue and restarting your computer (does not require Administrator access on your computer)
    1. Go to the Start menu (usually in the lower-left corner of your computer)
    2. Select Search (magnifying glass) icon
    3. Type in Printers & Scanners and select Printers & Scanner system settings
    4. Select ImageNow Printer printer
    5. Select Open queue button
      1. The ImageNow Printer queue opens
    6. Select a document from the listing then Document > Cancel
      1. Repeat this step until all documents are gone
    7. Select 'X' in the upper-right corner of the screen to close the Printers & scanners system settings

or

  1. Restarting the Spooler. You will need to be an Administrator on your computer to do the following. If you do not want to reboot and are not an administrator on your computer, please contact your local IT staff.
    1. Search for Windows Administrative Tools in Windows search
    2. In the window that comes up, look for Services in the main panel
    3. Double-click Services
    4. In the Services List, search for Print Spooler
    5. Right click on Print Spooler and restart the Print Spooler
