Campus Computing Sites classrooms, Classrooms & Instruction
Issue
Information about how to reserve a sites classroom, for University of Michigan faculty, staff, or students.
Resolution
Reservation requests are accepted through our Team Dynamix form and classroom schedules are available through Google Calendars. To view the policies and submit a request please visit the Campus Computing Sites Classroom & Instruction page
Reservation Requests
- Click the Classroom reservation request form
- Fill in all of the required fields and as many of the optional fields as possible. The more information we have, the better.
- Click the Request button when finished
Helpful Tips
- Please enter as much information as possible in the ITS-Campus Computing Sites Space Reservation System form
- It is not uncommon for multiple individuals to request a space for the same class
- More information helps identify duplicate requests.
- Requestor, Department and Class start date/time, end date/time and platform are required.
- For student reservations do not fill in the Course or Section field
- Set the Start Date, Start Time, and End Time appropriately.
- If the class repeats weekly, you can use the recurrence options
- This allows you to select specific days to repeat weekly without adding every day individually
- When selecting the classroom that you prefer, keep in mind that this will not tell you immediately if the classroom is available or not.
- The request will be created and reviewed by Sites Administrators.
Note: It can take 2 business days for Sites Administrators to respond to your request.
Additional Information
Requests are granted on a first-come first-serve basis with two exceptions:
- The Registrar's Office schedule takes precedence.
- These are regular academic sessions.
- Students may request Classroom space, however, they can be "bumped" for academic use.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why am I not told immediately if I have the classroom or not? Why the need for the administrator?
Our system allows the customer to put in the request far in advance of the RO (Registrars Office) submitting the schedule for next semester. But since the RO can "bump" a customer, we want to make sure they do not have the expectation of the space till we know for sure.
What if I am bumped?
We will try to find a space that's convenient and meets your needs. That's why it's important to communicate any specific needs, such as Mac or PC.
What if I need the classroom in fewer than 48 business days?
We will try to be accommodating, but we can't make guarantees. We do not keep weekend hours, so we cannot promise a reservation made over the weekend will be approved. Something submitted Saturday for Monday may not be approved in time.
What about Shapiro? I see it on the list of classrooms, but you didn't mention it.
Shapiro is a partnership site with the Shapiro Undergraduate Library. It is not properly equipped to serve as a classroom. The Library maintains it for use of the students.
