Issue

Obtaining file space for storage or Linux apache website hosting, for individuals or groups. Microsoft IIS web hosting does not usually rely on AFS.

Resolution

• Service information is at https://its.umich.edu/computing/backup-storage/afs
• For an individual/person entry to set up their own AFS home volume:
  • Connect to https://ifsprovisioning.its.umich.edu/ifs_storage/request
• For a group directory there is request form https://teamdynamix.umich.edu/TDClient/30/Portal/Requests/TicketRequests/NewForm?ID=DgsKevsr5RQ_
• For course directory, to modify an existing group directory, mass provisioning of sponsored accounts, or any other issue: 
  • Contact the ITS Service Center and direct to ITS-Storage group.

Additional Information

It may take up to 20 minutes for the directory to be available after self-service provisioning for the new volume to be accessible from logon hosts. It can take up to 60 minutes for it to be accessible from web hosts.
