How to Complete Okta Enrollment if not currently Using Duo
Resolution
Even if you do not use Duo you should still complete Okta Enrollment to sync your current password with Okta and prepare for the Okta sign-in experience.
Follow these steps:
- Navigate to oktaverify.umich.edu.
- Click on "Enroll your UMICH Account".
- Authenticate using your credentials at the Weblogin screen.
- After authentication, you will see the option to set up Okta Verify:
- If you select "Enroll in Okta with MFA", you will be walked through setting up Okta Verify.
- Note: Once this extra security is turned on, it can’t be removed from your account.
- If you choose "Sip for now," you'll go straight to the completion screen and can try out the Okta Sign on experience.

As the University of Michigan transitions to Okta for sign-in and multi-factor authentication, we’re here to help with any issues you may encounter. Until February 25, 2026, everyone will continue to use U-M Weblogin and Duo to access U-M Services.
