Remote Office Hours Queue
Anyone who can log in with U-M Weblogin with a uniqname and password (i.e. not Friend accounts).
Issue
- Why does the ROHQ Zoom Meeting require a passcode?
- Issue with requiring passcode when joining ROHQ Zoom Meeting.
Resolution
A passcode is only required for a Zoom meeting if the host has enabled the passcode option. The steps below can help troubleshoot if you do not want a password set or if there are problems using a password.
Update and verify zoom settings before creating queue or scheduling meeting (Host)
- Check your Zoom client version

- Clear your browser's cache and cookies.
- Log out and log back into Zoom.
- Ensure you are connected to the U-M network.
- Check your Zoom settings:
- Make sure the "Enter passcode" option is not selected for your meeting. (Unchecked)
To disable passcode setting
- Go to your Zoom account settings.
- Navigate to the "Security" section.
- Locate the option "Require a passcode when scheduling new meetings".
- Disable this option to prevent Zoom from automatically requiring a passcode for attendees.
- Log in to ROHQ and create a new meeting session.
If you are asked to enter passcode (Attendee)
- Check your Zoom client version

- Clear your browser's cache and cookies.

- Make sure the queue is Open for you to join.
