Issue
How can I improve the accessibility of my Canvas content using Panorama?
Resolution
You can find and fix accessibility barriers in your Canvas course from the accessibility report in Panorama. The accessibility report displays the total number of accessibility issues found in a specific resource (such as a page or document), and provides you with the steps to fix those issues. The accessibility report is not viewable by students.
There are multiple ways to access the accessibility report:
Access the accessibility report via the Panorama tab
- In your course, select Panorama from the left-side navigation.
- Scroll down to the section titled Search Issues and Content and ensure that the Content tab is selected.
- Select the icon displaying an item’s accessibility rating under the Score column to open the Accessibility Report.
Access the accessibility report via the Modules tab
- Navigate to Modules. Resources that Panorama has scanned and assigned accessibility ratings to will have icons displayed beside them, reflecting the accessibility score of that item.
- Select the icon and the alternative formats pop-up will appear.
- Select Accessibility Report.
Fix issues from the accessibility report
From the accessibility report, for each item you can select Learn More to understand what the issue is and the steps to take to fix that issue.
For some issues, you will see an option to Fix Issue which will use the Panorama remediation engine to fix the barrier automatically.
