Why Can't I See Grade Rosters I Had Access to Before?

Environment

University of Michigan (U-M)

Issue

Former U-M instructors or faculty members are unable to view grade rosters from prior classes.

Resolution

This issue is due to a policy change implemented in 2024 concerning grade roster access. In response to U-M Audit office recommendations:

  • Instructors who leave the university will retain grading access only through April of the year following their departure.
    • After this period, access to grade rosters is revoked.
  • This will align to the same practice used for Employee Self Service access.

Additional Information

If you are a former instructor who has questions about students' grades, you should contact the registrar in your related academic unit.
