Why am I Getting "Your identification could not be verified" Error as a Student Applicant?

Wolverine Access New & Prospective Student Business

Issue

Verifying application details through Wolverine Access New & Prospective Student Business to connect an application to a UMID.  

Resolution

  1. Confirm that you can log in to the Weblogin Page at http://weblogin.umich.edu (Note: this will redirect you to Wolverine Access but will not ask you to verify anything. It will confirm your login/password are correct ).
  2. Confirm that your application submission date was not within the past 24-48 hours. If it has, wait until 48 hours have transpired.
  3. Confirm that your birthdate is entered in the format MM/DD/YYYY.
  4. Contact the ITS Service Center for help.

The Service Center can confirm that the values you are typing match in our system. They can also unlock your Friend Account if necessary. 

Contact your admitting office to correct your UMID or birthdate if they are incorrect in our system.

Additional Information

The format of the birthdate can be problematic

  • Try using the calendar instead of typing in the date.
  • Try typing instead of using the calendar.
  • Try the format DD/MM/YYYY.
