Received "Some of your U-M Computing Access will be Discontinued" but Should Not Have

Environment

U-M uniqname, system access

Issue

  • You received a message with the Subject:Some of your U-M Computing Access will be Discontinued.
  • You believe you should not have received that message
    • You do have a current University of Michigan business role
    • You have recently had an account adjustment so that your U-M business role is restored

Resolution

  • If you have recently had an account adjustment
    • It is very likely that the message was created and sent before the recent adjustment was made
    • The system will not remove your services if that new/adjusted role is in place, despite what the message indicated
  • If you believe you currently have a University of Michigan business role that should grant you services from U-M
    • Confirm that you have completed the steps to satisfy the conditions of that role
      • Accept admission
      • Register for classes
      • Work with your HR representative to clarify staff, faculty, or retiree roles
    • The system will not remove your access when these roles have been confirmed and conditions are satisfied

Additional Information

If you do not have an official business role at U-M (alumni, admitted/enrolled student, current staff or faculty, retiree) you will only receive services through sponsorship.

A University of Michigan sponsorship requires someone to sponsor you so that you can continue doing University business without having a regular system-provided role.
