Remote Office Hours Queue (ROHQ)
Issue
Links to the tool including a search for queues that worked prior to June 27, 2023 now result in a Page Not Found message.
Resolution
The way that link URLs to searches are formed changed in the 1.8.0 release of Remote Office Hours Queue. Previous links used the form of officehours.it.umich.edu/search/{term}/, where {term} was the search term. It now uses the form of officehours.it.umich.edu/search/?term={term}. Creating new URLs can be challenging manually because certain characters require special encoding in URLs.
The simplest way to get a new link URL for a search is the following:
- Enter the term you want to search for from the home page at officehours.it.umich.edu, and click "Search Queues".
- Once the search results page loads, copy the new URL from the address bar.

The recently released of the version of the tool introduced changes to how search URLs are formed. Please check and update any links to searches that you provide to users. See this article for more info. Note that direct links to queues are unaffected.
