Issue
How can I restrict access to data within a Google Sheets spreadsheet that's already shared with one or more individuals?
Resolution
A range of data or an entire sheet in a Google spreadsheet can be protected from editing or viewing by anyone with access to the spreadsheet. Instructions on how add, modify, and remove protections within a Google spreadsheet can be found in the Google Help Center.
The owner of a Google spreadsheet has full control over the sheet and range protections, regardless of who added them.
Note: You cannot protect a range or sheet using the Google Sheets mobile app for Android and iOS. This can only be done using a computer. This feature is also not available when editing an Excel sheet (.xlsx) in the Google Sheets editor.
