How can I improve the accessibility of my Canvas content using Panorama?
Resolution
As an instructor, you can find and fix accessibility barriers in your Canvas course from the accessibility report in Panorama. The accessibility report displays the total number of accessibility issues found in a specific resource (such as a page or document), and provides you with the steps to fix those issues. Accessibility score icons and the accessibility report are not viewable by students.
There are multiple ways to access the accessibility report:
Access the accessibility report from the accessibility score icons
- Accessibility score icons can be found next to items in Modules, Files, and other places throughout a course
- Selecting the icon as an instructor will directly open the Accessibility Report for that item
Access the accessibility report via the Panorama tab
- In your course, select Panorama from the left-side navigation.
- Scroll down to the section titled Files and Issues and ensure that the Files tab is selected.
- Select the icon displaying an item’s accessibility rating under the Score column to access the Accessibility Report for that item.
Fix issues from the accessibility report
- Select Fix This Document
- Choose the Guided Remediation with Assistance option to use Panorama to directly fix accessibility barriers
- If you are working on a PDF or PowerPoint, you may also need to use the Edit Structure with Structural Remediation option to fix issues with reading order

- Follow the steps to fix the issue and then Select Fix. You can also learn more about the issue by checking out the linked Help Guide.
