How do I upload a recorded presentation to a Lecture Recording site?

If you have a recorded lecture or presentation on your device, it can be uploaded to your Lecture Recording site in order for students and viewers to see all of the relevant recordings in one location.

Note: You must contact the Lecture Recording support team to turn on the upload capability for the site. This function is tied to the specific Lecture Recording site and not the user, so it is necessary to be clear about which event or course site you are requesting it for.

Once you have confirmation that uploading has been enabled:

  1. Go to your Lecture Recording My Sites page (https://leccap.engin.umich.edu/leccap/manage/).
  2. Click the Manage recordings link for the course you would like to upload to.
  3. Click the Upload navigation tab.
  4. Enter a Recording Title.
  5. Choose a date/time to display as the timestamp for this video.
  6. Drag your video into the area that says Drag ‘n’ drop… or click that area and select the file from your computer.
  7. If you have a video of your slides (it must be identical in length), click the + Add a slides track (optional) button.
  8. Drag your slides video onto the area that says Drag ‘n’ drop… or click that area and select the file from your computer.
  9. Click Upload.

Do not close the browser window until the upload process has completed. Navigating away may cancel the upload process. Once uploaded, these videos could take up to two hours before they are editable within the system.

This function is not intended as a method to share commercially available copyrighted materials regardless of the use case. Any uploaded content that falls into this category may be removed without notice.
