How to Request a Site or User Addition in Siteimprove

Siteimprove is the automated accessibility and quality assurance scanning platform used across LSA web properties. Use this article when you need a new website added to Siteimprove scanning, or when someone on your team needs access to Siteimprove reports.

Who can submit a request

Any LSA faculty or staff member responsible for a website or unit web presence. You do not need to be a Siteimprove user already to request access.

Before you start

Gather the information below so your request can be processed without a follow up.

Steps

  1. Open the LSA-TS-WebAccessibility request form.

  2. Confirm the Requestor Details section, and add a preferred email if it is different from your UMICH address.

  3. Under Type of Request, select the option that matches what you need:

    • User Addition to Siteimprove

    • Site Addition to Siteimprove

  4. Enter a short Title, such as "Add three editors to Classics site" or "Add lsa.example.umich.edu to Siteimprove."

  5. In URL or System, enter the site URL. For user additions, enter the site the user needs access to.

  6. Set Urgency / Timeline based on your need. Note any deadline, such as a launch date or an audit due date.

  7. In Description, summarize the request and list the users or sites. If you are submitting more than a few, use a CSV instead (see below).

  8. Use Attachment to upload your CSV file, if applicable.

  9. Submit the form.

Submitting multiple users or sites by CSV

For requests covering more than about five users or sites, attach a CSV rather than typing everything into the Description field. Use these column headers.

Leave a cell blank if the value does not apply. Do not include passwords or tokens in the CSV. If a site requires credentials for scanning, note that in the Description and the accessibility team will follow up through a secure channel.

What happens next

The web accessibility team reviews the request and provisions access or configures the crawl. Most requests are completed within five business days. Newly added sites take up to a few days to complete their first full crawl, so reports will populate gradually rather than appearing immediately.

You will receive updates through the TeamDynamix ticket. Reply to the ticket email to add information or ask questions.
