Summary

This article provides guidance for using the Zoom Recordings Manager for long-term retention of cloud recordings in Dropbox or MiVideo.

Body

Environment

U-M Zoom, U-M Dropbox, MiVideo

Issue

Can I transfer all of my U-M Zoom cloud recordings to another service for long-term retention and/or hosting?

Resolution

You can use the Zoom Recordings Manager to copy your Zoom cloud recordings to Dropbox or MiVideo.

  • The tool will only copy recordings that currently exist in your account. It will not copy new recordings created after you use it.
  • The tool will show all cloud recordings in your U-M Zoom account, except for those in your Trash. (Recover any recordings in your Trash that you'd like to copy.)
  • The tool does not show local recordings (i.e., meetings recorded to your computer rather than the cloud).
  • Copying your recordings to Dropbox or MiVideo does NOT delete them from Zoom.

To copy your cloud recordings to another service:

  1. Go to Zoom Recordings Manager.
  2. Click the "Get started copying recordings to [service]" button for the service you want to transfer recordings to (Dropbox or MiVideo).
  3. [For Dropbox only] Authorize the Zoom Recordings Manager to access your U-M Dropbox account.
  4. Check/uncheck listed recordings so that only those you want to copy are selected. (There is no limit to how many you can select at once.)
  5. Click Copy Selected Recordings to [Service] Now.

It may take up to 24 hours to copy the recording(s) to your specific service. If you selected a large number of recordings, it may take longer. However, most requests will take less than 2 hours to process.

Additional Information

If you would like your Zoom cloud recordings automatically saved to U-M Dropbox after they're recorded, use the Zoom for Dropbox integration.
