What is Slack Connect? How do I use Slack Connect?

Resolution

Slack Connect lets you collaborate with other workspaces outside U-M Slack via shared channels and direct messages (DMs).

  • Refer to Getting Started With Slack Connect for more information on using Slack Connect.
  • If you receive a Slack Connect invitation from an external workspace, refer to the Slack Help Center for more information on accepting it.
Caution: If you accept a Slack Connect invitation from an external organization, you cannot share any sensitive data allowed in U-M Slack in that channel. Because the invite did not originate from U-M Slack and the channel is owned by an external organization, our data protections do not apply.
  • Slack Connect is not available in the Maize & Blue workspace.
