Issue

How do I move a channel from one workspace to another?

Resolution

• Both workspaces must be in U-M Slack
  • Learn how to check if a workspace is in U-M Slack
• If you are a Workspace Admin in both the workspace that the channel exists in now, and the workspace to which you want to move the channel, you can move the channel yourself
  • Follow the instructions in the Slack Help Center: Move channels between workspaces on Enterprise Grid
• If you want to move a channel into or out of Maize & Blue, contact the ITS Service Center for assistance
  • The ITS Collaboration Services team will need to do this for you.
    • Moving a channel out of Maize & Blue into another workspace: you must be a Workspace Admin of the destination workspace, and you must be a member of the Maize & Blue channel
    • Moving a channel into Maize & Blue from another workspace: you must be a Workspace Admin of the originating workspace
