Remote Office Hours Queue: Invalid Meeting ID / Meetings Using My Personal Meeting ID

Environment

Remote Office Hours Queue

Issue

  • I am trying to join a meeting in Remote Office Hours Queue and I am getting an error - "Unable to join this meeting. This meeting ID is not valid. Please check and try again."
  • I am a host in Remote Office Hours Queue and all of my meetings are being created with my Personal Meeting ID (PMI, also known as Personal Meeting Room).

Resolution

If you are the host, follow these steps. If you are an attendee, please contact the host and advise them to follow the below steps.

  1. Navigate to the queue management page.
  2. Click the red trash icon next to the impacted meeting.
  3. Click OK to confirm.
  4. Enter the attendee's uniqname in the Uniqname... field in the Meetings in Queue section.
  5. Make sure Zoom is selected in the drop-down to the left of the + Add Attendee button.
  6. Click the + Add Attendee button.
  7. If necessary, assign the attendee to yourself.
  8. Click the Create Meeting button.
  9. Click Join Meeting as Host.

Additional Information

This is happening due to a change that Zoom made to how meetings are created by integrations like Remote Office Hours Queue. The Remote Office Hours Queue team implemented a long-term fix early in the morning of December 2 to prevent this from happening to new meetings, but any meetings created on December 1 that are impacted will need to be recreated using the steps above.
