Issue
How can I play background music or other audio during a Zoom meeting while sharing my screen? Can I do that without sharing my screen?
Resolution
Zoom allows you to share background music or other audio during a meeting, either while sharing your screen or without sharing it.
Share audio while screen sharing
- Start your Zoom meeting.
- Click Share from the bottom toolbar.
- Select the application or desktop screen you want to share.
- Check the Share sound box under "Share options" in the right-side panel.
- [Optional] Select the down arrow beside the "Share sound" option to view and switch between Mono and Stereo (high fidelity) audio options. (The default is Mono.)
- Click Share.
Sharing device audio can also be enabled after you have begun screen sharing by clicking More in the floating screen share toolbar, hovering over Share computer sound, and selecting Mono (or Stereo (high fidelity)).
Share audio without screen screening
- Start your Zoom meeting.
- Click Share from the bottom toolbar.
- Click the Advanced tab at the top.
- Click Computer audio.
- [Optional] Select the down arrow beside the "Computer audio" option to view and switch between Mono and Stereo (high fidelity) audio options. (The default is Mono.)
- Click Share.
Meeting participants can now listen to your music without viewing your screen.
