Alumni and Retiree MPrint Accounts

Issue

How do alumni or retirees access and use printing services on campus?

Resolution

  • After a student graduates or an employee retires from U-M, their accounts in PaperCut are deprovisioned.
    • As long as you still have a valid uniqname, you can recreate an MPrint account for yourself on the MPrint User Dashboard by clicking the "Enroll <uniqname>" button, where <uniqname> would be replaced with your uniqname.
    • If you are uncertain if you have a valid MPrint account, the MPrint User Dashboard will tell you if you have already enrolled for MPrint, or will allow you to enroll immediately.
  • Alumni and retirees do not receive a printing allocation each term, so you will need to add funds to your MPrint account by purchasing MPrint credits from the Tech Shop, then redeeming them on your MPrint User Dashboard.
  • Once an alumni or retiree has a valid and funded MPrint account, you can print to any publicly accessible Campus Computing Sites printer using the MPrint Web application, MPrint Mobile app, or by logging in to a Campus Computing Sites computer.
    • In general, we encourage that you use printers at the Fishbowl or Shapiro Library for ease of use and support.
