Device Pricing & Purchasing through U-M

Summary

The University of Michigan has negotiated pricing for many commercial devices used in research. This article provides the process to check current negotiated prices.

Considerations

  • Vendors regularly release new models and update continuing models. Devices used for grant budgets may not be available when it is time to purchase devices.
  • Device models, even from the same vendor, may not have comparable sensor technology.
  • While U-M may have negotiated pricing retail websites sometimes have lower prices. However, they may also have limits on the quantity that can be purchased.
  • Some study management system vendors offer devices with delivery to participants as an additional service.
