OFA - Work-Study Off-Campus Job Certification

Before completing this form:

  1. Confirm that the student employee has completed the Student Employment Application through their Wolverine Access account.
  2. Verify that the student employee's official financial aid award notice includes federal work-study for the term you are requesting.

Important Reminders and Work-Study Reminders:

  1. Financial aid is occasionally revised during the school year.
  2. A student's UMID is personal information, please protect it as such.
  3. Students in the work-study program may work until they earn the amount of their award or until the published end date of the academic period, whichever comes first.
  4. We encourage students to maintain a healthy work-school-life balance and so the Office of Financial Aid recommends that enrolled student employees work no more than 29 hours per week.
  5. Students are prohibited from working during their scheduled class times. Supervisors must collect and maintain documentation from students if their class has been cancelled, if their remote class is asynchronous, or if their instructor has excused them from attending, before permitting them to work during their regular class time.
  6. Students must be registered at least half-time (6 hours for undergraduates; 4 hours for graduate students) to maintain eligibility for work-study.
  7. Please do not submit a reimbursement invoice until this job certification has been received and processed by the Student Employment Office.
