Windows PC Microphone Volume Troubleshooting

On Windows PCs users have reported the microphone volume fades in and out when using Zoom, Panopto, etc. Here are the steps to turn off Windows Audio Enhancements for your device(s) to correct the problem

1. Right click on the speaker icon in the toolbar
2. select "Open Sound Settings"
   
3. click "Sound Control Panel" on the right-hand side
   
4. select the "Recording" tab
   
5. Right-click on the device
   
6. select "Properties"
7. select the "Advanced" tab
   
8. UNcheck the box that says "Enable audio enhancements"
   
9. Click "OK"
10. You will need to do this for ALL audio input devices on your system, including any new devices you plug in. Once this setting is turned off it should remain off even if the device is unplugged.
