After Add Block > Media > Media & Text, you can upload an image or other media. The layout default is media on the left and a paragraph block with large text on the right. These blocks can be changed in the block editor toolbar. This is similar to having two equal sized columns with different block types on each side:
Below, the paragraph block is removed and replaced with a list block:
