Summary
Step by step procedure for requesting movers to assist with large equipment moves at off-site locations. If this is time sensitive, then you may need to coordinate the move within your area.
Directions
When submitting a ticket with the movers, include the following information. Tickets are generated by emailing the details of your request to lsa-movers@umich.edu
- Pickup location and Delivery location
- Indicate if someone will be at the locations to give direction.
- Items will be left if movers are unsure.
- Indicate if location is locked via key, CCURE, or other
- Movers have full CCURE access so doors with a card are always fine
- Doors with a key may require extra time to coordinate if nobody will be present for pickup, but movers can usually obtain a key with enough notice.
- If no one is at the location, include photos or make sure that the items are clearly marked.
- Items being picked up
- Photos in email and physical signs on items preferred
- Tools Needed
- Indicate if tools will be needed, or if you’re providing them. (Could be the case for dispo pickups from offsite locations, etc)
- “Tools” refers to items such as two-wheel dollies for overly large or heavy items, Crates (stackable up to 4 high with 4 wheel dollies) and Racks (large racks used by movers to pick up items for disposal)
