Creating a new student petition

Students to be able to create a new petition and monitor the status of the petition.


Latest versions of the following web browsers:

  • Chrome
  • Internet Explorer
  • Safari
  • Firefox


  1. To submit a new petition, go to your student My Worklist page on the Student Academic Petitions website and select New Request.

    Student Academic Petitions dialog panel (which does not display in our article if you're not authenticated)

  2. Click on the [New] button next to the request you would like to initiate.

    Note: If you do not see the petition you want to initiate, go to the LSA web site for additional instructions and forms.

  3. Complete all sections that have a red header. Required fields have a red asterisk.

  4. If you must attach documentsclick on the [Select File] button to upload.

    Approved File Formats:

    Text: .pdf, .txt, .rtf
    Image: .bmp, .gif, .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .tif, .tiff


    • File Size
      • Minimize file size to 500KB or less, if possible.
      • Try "saving as" a reduced size PDF or an image with a lower resolution.
    • Paper documents
      • Find a printer that will scan and email you an electronic document.
      • Take a picture with your phone and send/save the image file to your computer.

        Important: Please make sure the picture of the document is upright and readable.

  5. Once you are ready to submit your petition, click the [Save and Submit] button at the bottom of the page.
You can click the [Save] button at anytime to save and close your draft without submitting.
