Finding your computer name (Windows and Mac)

Instructions on how to find your computer name in Windows 10 or on macOS.

Objective

Be able to find your computer's name whether on Windows or macOS.

Note
Many computers in LSA have a prominent label with the computer's name printed on it. If you are asked for the computer name, reading it off the label will usually be the easiest way to get it.

Procedure

How to find your computer name on Windows 10

Click on, “File Explorer” on your taskbar.
Right click, “This PC.”
Click, “Properties."
Under “Computer name, domain, and workgroup settings,” find Computer Name:

Click the Apple in the upper left menu bar
Choose, “System Preferences”
Click, “Sharing”
The Computer Name is listed on top of the frame.
