NQ 1285 Linguistics class lab

Overview

  • NQ 1285 is a new class lab taking the place of the Linguistics class lab in Lorch 473.
  • Its system consists of the podium, components mounted in the ceiling and on the wall, and the closet NQ 1285A.
    • Standard NVX podium as exists in other NVX-based classrooms and auditoriums.
    • CP4N control system, NVX video distribution and Biamp DSP with Extron amplifier.
    • Two wireless mics (lav and handheld, ULX-D dual receiver in AV closet 1285A)
    • Ceiling mic (Shure MXA910)
    • Various components in AV rack in the closet NQ 1285A, including the lecture recording subsystem, CP4N, mic receiver, assistive listening system, DSP and amplifier.
    • One Epson projector facing the front, and two NEC displays in the rear of the room, that all follow the same source and power state at all times.
    • Zoom Audio on the PC should be the device called "Zoom Audio" (in both directions). Standard playback should be Crestron.
    • In addition to the room system, there are IC-provided computers around the room for lab activities.
      • Although this is a class lab, there are also regular tables for non-computer based classes, as Linguistics plans on holding regular discussion section courses in this space.
      • Because of the regular classes scheduled in here, we have this marked on the All Spaces levels of support List as being Technology Services full support, just like in all other classrooms.
      • That's different from the Chemistry class labs, for example, where the lab staff would need to be present for others to enter the space.
