Summary
RHEL & Ubuntu are the officially supported LSA Linux operating systems but there are use cases where our community may have a need to run an other Linux distro. This KB outlines how we can support other operating systems.

Policy
We always want to suggest to our users that RHEL & Ubuntu (pro) are our recommended operating systems for Linux devices and try to have users install these operating systems whenever possible. We will provide Orcharhino management of the below operating systems in addition to RHEL & Ubuntu. Support will be provided only for the most current operating system.
- Alma
- Rocky
- Debian
- Xubuntu
- Lubuntu
When purchasing new devices we will also want to encourage our community to use Ubuntu or RHEL. If these OS will not work, please first recommend one of the OS above since this will allow us to tie the device to our management systems. If a user needs to run a different OS from the options listed above, these devices will be considered self managed and need to go through our security review process.
