Renewing a checkout in the Technology Library Portal

This article will guide you through the steps for renewing a checkout in the Technology Library Portal

Environment

Technology Library Portal with WebCheckout

Directions 

  1. Navigate to the Home page of the Technology Library Portal using the Home icon in the sidebar or by clicking on the LSA TS logo in the upper left corner of the webpage.

  2. Select the checkout that you would like to renew in the Current Checkouts section.

  3. Under the Actions sidebar, click on Renew CK-######.

  4. The Tech Library Portal will then provide you with the Maximum Renewal Time for the equipment that you have checked out and will automatically suggest an End Time for you to return the equipment at the end of the Maximum Renewal Time.

    1. If you would like to return the equipment before its Maximum Renewal Time, you can edit the End Time to schedule your return manually.

      1. Note: when making edits to the Start and/or End Times, be sure to click the green checkmark (đź—¸) to the right of the "Times" field to apply your changes to the checkout.

    2. Please check the Center Calendar (under the Actions sidebar) to view the open hours for that location. The Tech Library Portal will not allow you to schedule a return outside of a center’s operating hours.

  5. Select the “Submit Changes” button in the bottom right corner of the webpage.

    1. Note: if the edits you make to the checkout go against any of the Technology Library’s Policies OR the equipment is not eligible for renewal, the Portal will flag the errors and will not allow you to submit your changes. You can view the Technology Library’s Renewal Policy here.

    2. To fix an error:

      1. Click on the red exclamation point ( ! ) next to the impacted item to find out what the error is. 

      2. Make the appropriate changes to your End Time so that your renewal follows the Technology Library’s Policies.

        1. If you can’t figure out how to correct the error, please call 734-615-0100 (prompt 2) or email LSATechnologyServices@umich.edu.

        2. If you want something that’s outside of our general policy, please fill out our Special Request form - these will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
