Issue
How do I change the security option on my existing Zoom meetings? (i.e., authentication, waiting room, and/or a passcode)
Resolution
If you would like to change the required security options on a meeting you created or your Personal Meeting Room (PMI):
- Go to U-M Zoom and click Sign in.
- Click Meetings from the left navigation. (You should land on this page upon signing in.)
- Click the Upcoming Meeting tab for editing a scheduled meeting or click the Personal Room tab for your PMI.
- Hover over the specific meeting from your Upcoming Meeting list and click Edit.
- Only meetings you created/scheduled will appear here (i.e., meetings that you are only attending will not appear here).
- Can't find a particular meeting? Ensure to check the end of your meeting list. Recurring meetings with no fixed time (including those created through Google Calendar) are at the end.
- If you are asked whether you want to edit all occurrences or just this one, select the applicable option for your situation.
- Click the Edit button at the bottom of the Personal Room page.
- You can adjust the security options in the Security section. Check the box(es) beside the options you'd like to enable for your meeting. (You can select multiple if desired.)
- Click Save.
Use these steps regardless of where you created your meeting (e.g., Zoom, Google Calendar, Canvas, etc.). There is no way to edit multiple meetings at once. They must be edited individually.
Additional Information
