Issue
Microsoft has announced that Microsoft Publisher will no longer be available after October 2026. What actions do I take and what other tools can I use?
Resolution
Microsoft stated that Publisher will no longer be included in Microsoft 365 after October 1, 2026. This means Microsoft 365 users will no longer be able to open or edit Publisher files in the app.
Microsoft recommends converting existing Publisher files (.pub) to another format (such as .pdf) to ensure you can access them after this date. More information about how to convert Publisher files, as well as Microsoft's recommended alternatives to Publisher, can be found in Microsoft's documentation about the retirement of the service.
