Issue

What version of the Zoom desktop app am I currently running?

Resolution

Click here to see what minimum client version of Zoom is currently enforced. If you are below the minimum client version, you will be asked to update your Zoom client.

The instructions below show you how to find which version of the Zoom desktop app you are currently running. Please refer to any communication you have received (if applicable) to determine the version you need to be on for specific features of Zoom to work correctly.

  1. Open the Zoom desktop app
    • On Mac: Finder > Applications > Zoom
    • On PC: Windows Start button (i.e., windows icon) > Zoom

(You may need to type "Zoom" into the search bar.)

  1. The Zoom desktop app may require you to sign in to your U-M Zoom account (continue to step 3 if it does not)
    1. Click Sign InSSO (key icon) > Enter umich in the Company Domain field and click Continue
    2. Sign in with U-M Weblogin
    3. Return to the desktop app
  2. Click your profile picture/icon in the top right corner of the desktop app
  3. Hover over Help in the drop-down menu that appears and select About Zoom
  4. The pop-up that appears will tell you which version of the app you are running
Note: If you do not see the Help option in your drop-down menu, it is likely that you are checking the Zoom website using a web browser and not the Zoom desktop app, which is the program that runs Zoom on your computer.

If you think you need to update Zoom, follow the appropriate directions for updating your client. If you want to know what the latest version of the Zoom desktop app is, check the Zoom Release notes for your Operating System.
