Issue

How can I assign someone as a delegate to schedule Zoom meetings for me?

Resolution

In Zoom, it's possible to assign one or more individuals as delegates to schedule meetings on your behalf. Individuals you have assigned to schedule meetings on your behalf will also automatically be able to manage and act as alternate hosts for all your meetings. Additionally, if both you and the delegated individual(s) have a webinar license, they will be able to schedule and manage all your webinars.

To assign a delegate:

  1. Go to U-M Zoom and click Sign in.
  2. Click Settings in the left navigation and select Meeting.
  3. Click Other to the left of the settings list.
  4. Click Add next to "Assign scheduling privilege to" under the Schedule Privilege section.
    • If you already have a delegate assigned, click Edit and then click Add at the bottom of the delegates list.
  5. Enter one @umich.edu email address in the field provided.
    • If you need to add more than one, click Add again and enter their @umich.edu email address in the field. Repeat this for every delegate you want to add.
    • Note: If entering the email address and pressing Enter leads to the field resetting, enter the email address and click the 'Press ENTER to...' drop-down option for the field to set the address instead.
  6. Check the Can manage my private events box if desired.
    • This setting allows them to manage Zoom meetings associated with your private Google Calendar events.
  7. Click Save.
  8. Check the boxes next to Cloud recording and/or Reports under the "Allows access to the following data for scheduled meetings" section, depending on what you would like to provide access.
    • You are able to specify which types of cloud recordings delegates can access under "Cloud recording > Delegates can access recordings for:." Select one and click Save. The choices include:
      • Meetings they schedule
      • Meetings any delegate schedules
      • All meetings
    • These options apply to every delegate on your account. You cannot specify them per delegate.
