How do I install the Microsoft Teams desktop client?

Resolution

Note: As of January 2024, Teams has transitioned to a new experience. Make sure you are installing the new Microsoft Teams (may have a "new" banner on the app icon, may say "Microsoft Teams (work or school)") and discontinue using Microsoft Teams classic. All users will be required to transition to the new Microsoft Teams experience on March 31, 2024.

Installation

MiWorkspace Windows Computers: Microsoft Teams is included with Microsoft 365 and can be self-installed on MiWorkspace Windows computers from the Software Center.
MiWorkspace Mac Computers: Microsoft 365 (including Teams) is already installed on your device.
Non-MiWorkspace Devices and Personal Devices: Download and install Microsoft Teams on a non-MiWorkspace or personal device (Mac and Windows).

Once installed, you can then log into Microsoft Teams.

Additional Information

NOTE: If you can not or do not wish to install a client application, Microsoft Teams can also be used via the web at https://teams365.umich.edu.
