Correct or Update My UMICH Record

Issue

My personal information  has changed or is otherwise incorrect, and I need to get it updated.

Resolution

Reach out to the department that manages your record. This is based on your affiliation.  If you have multiple affiliations you may need to reach out to multiple offices. Some updates may take over night to sync to all UMICH systems. 

Alumni (all campuses)

Retirees

  • Call the Customer Care Team at 734-615-2000 (press 1, then press 1 again) to update your name.
     

Faculty & Staff (all campuses)

  • Use the Personal Data Validation Form.
    • This form is managed by the Shared Services Center, who can be reached by phone at 734-615-2000 or by email at sharedservices@umich.edu.
  • Or, ask your department’s HR staff to make the change for you.

Students

Sponsored Individuals

  • Contact your department’s sponsorship administrator to request an update of your record. Once that is complete they will also need to work with the Shared Services Center to complete the update of your record.

Adding “Also Known As” Names

  • You can add nicknames or other versions of your name in the “Also Known As” part of your profile—this helps people find you in the directory.
