Environment
Okta Verify / Okta FastPass, Chrome
Issue
When using Okta FastPass for the first time on Chromium-based browsers (e.g., Chrome, Edge), you will receive a local network permission pop-up.
If permission is not granted, you will receive an error message when trying to sign in: "Unable to sign in" or "Okta FastPass requires network permission".

Resolution
Connect to Local Network
When Okta requests permission to "look for and connect to to any device on your local network," click Allow.
- You will only need to complete this action once.

Reset Browser Permissions
If you have clicked Block, you will not be able to use Okta FastPass on your browser until you reset the permissions.
To resolve the sign-in issue caused by blocked local network access in Chrome, follow these steps:
- While on your Okta sign-in page, click the padlock icon (or tune icon) on the left side of the address bar to open the site settings menu.
- Find the setting for Local network access.
- Use the toggle to change the permission from Block back to Allow.
- Reload the page. Okta FastPass should now work correctly.
