Slack: "Unable to Respond" Error on Mobile Login Attempt

U-M Slack, mobile devices

Issue

I am trying to launch a workspace via the Slack mobile app on my mobile device. After completing the login process, the following error message appears:

Unable to Respond
Please try again or contact the ITS Service Center if you need assistance.
Details...
The login service was unable to identify a compatible way to respond to the requested application. This is generally due to a misconfiguration on the part of the application and should be reported to the application's support team or owner.

How do I resolve this error?

Resolution

This error occurs when an unsupported browser is used. For example, Samsung Internet is an Android browser that has been reported to cause this error.

To avoid this error, you must switch to a supported mobile browser app, such as Google Chrome or Safari, and log in through slack.umich.edu in order to launch a workspace through the Slack app when prompted.
