Marketsite+, Marketsite+ (Browse Only)
Issue
- Unable to add an item to the cart in a supplier punch-out catalog.
- There is an "undefined" warning message on the page with the option to add the item to cart. Other supplier punch-out catalogs are working normally.
- Attempting to add an item to the cart leads to a message prompting for login/creating an account to make purchases OR continuing as a guest with limited access OR prompts for a zip code but doesn't accept the zip code being entered.
- The profile icon/account page for the supplier punch-out is not clickable OR doesn't display a U-M affiliation OR provides a non-Weblogin sign in option.
Resolution
The issue is caused by browser privacy and/or cookie settings. Adjust browser settings per the following instructions for your preferred browser:
Google Chrome
- Click the three vertical dots in the top-right corner of the browser.
- Click Settings.
- On the left-hand side, click Privacy and Security.
- Click Third-party cookies.
- Select Allow third-party cookies.
Microsoft Edge
- Click the three horizontal dots in the top-right corner of the browser.
- Click Settings.
- On the left-hand side, click Privacy, search, and services.
- Click Cookies.
- The Block third-party cookies setting must be toggled off (slider set to the left).
Safari
- Go to the Safari menu in the top-left of the screen.
- Click Settings (or Preferences).
- Click Privacy.
- Confirm the following settings are unchecked:
- Prevent cross-site tracking
- Hide IP address from trackers
- Block all cookies (depending on the MacOS, you may need to click into Advanced Settings to find this option)
- After updating any settings, close all Safari browsers and launch a new Safari browser to test adding items to a cart in a punch-out catalog on Marketsite+.
Firefox
The default, standard cookie settings in Firefox are more strict. To troubleshoot, add the Marketsite website addresses as exceptions in Firefox.
- Click the three horizontal lines in the top-right corner of the browser.
- Click Settings.
- On the left-hand side, click on Privacy & Security.
- Next to the Enhanced Tracking Protection section at the top, click Manage Exceptions.
- Copy-paste the following Marketsite addresses (one at a time), then click Add Exception
- Marketsite+ (Browse Only): https://solutions.sciquest.com/
- Marketsite+: https://finprod.dsc.umich.edu/
- Click Save Changes.
Additional Information
This issue has been specifically reported for the Fisher Scientific punch-out catalog across browsers, but may occur for other supplier catalogs as well.
