How do I create filters for incoming mail in my Gmail?

Resolution

In Gmail on the web, you can manage incoming mail with filters to send email to a label, archive, delete, star, or automatically forward it elsewhere.

Refer to the Google Help Center | Create rules to filter your emails for detailed instructions on creating filters, using specific messages to create a filter, editing and deleting filters, and exporting or importing filters.

Tips

  • Skipping the inbox can be useful for emails that don't need immediate action. However, make sure your filter isn't too broad, or it may tag unintended messages.
  • Export and import filters you want to use from another account.
  • Use advanced search operators to set up filters.
