Google: Use Split View in Chrome on Desktop

Environment

Google Chrome on desktop

Issue

I want to use Split View in Google Chrome to view two tabs side by side simultaneously.

Resolution

There are two ways to use Split View in Google Chrome on desktop:

  • Right-click an active or inactive tab you want to move into Split View. Select New split view with current tab or Add tab to new split view.
  • Drag-and-drop the tab you want to split into a new view to the edge of the open, target webpage. (Do not drag the tab to the edge of another tab. You must hold the tab on the left or right side of the open page and wait a second for Google to trigger the Create split view prompt and then drop it.)

Resize each pane as needed by dragging the divider between the two views.

If you can't find the Split View option when you right-click a tab, update Chrome to the latest version and try again.
