Multipliers

Not all courses offer the Multipliers feature, but for those that do, it can be a game-changer in how you strategize and allocate your efforts throughout the semester. Multipliers grant students the power to tailor their grade allocation to suit their strengths and preferences within the course.

Think of Multipliers as tokens that you can invest in specific assignment types to boost your potential points. The beauty of Multipliers lies in their flexibility - you get to decide where to allocate them and how many to use.

Let's break it down:

  • Agency and Flexibility

With Multipliers, you're no longer bound by a rigid grading structure. Instead, you determine which assignment types hold the most value for you. Whether it's essays, presentations, or quizzes, you have the power to amplify the points you earn in those areas.

  • Strategic Allocation

The number of tokens you have dictates how much you can amplify your points on an assignment type.

For instance, if you allocate one token to an assignment type, you'll earn the standard points for completing it. However, if you assign two tokens, you'll double those points. This allows you to prioritize where you want to excel concentrate your efforts where they matter most to you.

If you're a great presenter but struggle with written assignments, you could allocate more tokens to presentations to maximize on your strengths while minimizing the impact of written assignments on your overall grade.

Remember, not every course will offer Multipliers. If you have access to this feature, embrace the opportunity to take control of your academic journey.
